Meet Get Dat Weenie!
When you’re nervous at the shelter and only come out for Viennas, you end up with a name like Get Dat Weenie. Poor girl has had quite the journey—adopted, returned, adopted again, surrendered due to an emergency, and now back with her amazing foster. Could you be her forever?
Those ears!
Weenie is one of the silliest, sweetest, and snuggliest dogs we’ve had in a while. She takes a few days to get comfortable with new dogs, learning that they aren’t competing for resources. Once she understands that other pups are friends, she could play all day. She prefers smaller dogs or calm males, but with patience and proper introductions, she can get along with nearly any dog. She’s also great with older kids; sudden movements can startle her, so slow, gentle introductions are key.
Weenie is house-trained, with only one minor accident that happened after a few too many treats. She’s crate-trained as well, and though she may vocalize if she’s missing the action, she’s perfectly fine in her crate for nighttime or when you need to step out.
She’s curious about cats but gives them space, making her a good candidate for homes with dog-savvy cats or a safe area for cats while introductions happen. Toys, especially stuffed ones, are her favorite, and she loves to play and carry them around. Weenie is also smart and knows commands like “sit” and “paw.”
And when it comes to snuggles, Weenie is an expert. She will climb right into your lap for affection and isn’t shy about using those big brown eyes to make sure the pets keep coming.
Weenie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and ready to find her forever home with someone who can give her patience, love, and plenty of snuggles.
