When you’re nervous at the shelter and only come out for Viennas, you end up with a name like Get Dat Weenie.

This sweet girl has had quite the journey—adopted, returned, adopted again, surrendered due to an emergency, and now back with her amazing foster. Through it all, she has remained incredibly loving and resilient. Could you be her forever?

Weenie is one of the silliest, sweetest, and snuggliest dogs we’ve had in a while. She thrives on affection and will happily climb right into your lap, gazing up at you with those big brown eyes to make sure the pets never stop.

She absolutely loves cats and would be perfect for a cat lover looking to add a canine companion to their home. She respects them, enjoys their company, and truly seems happiest sharing space with feline friends.

With other dogs, Weenie is selective (not reactive) and requires a meet and greet prior to adoption. She can take a few days to get comfortable, as she likes time to understand that resources are safe and she doesn’t need to compete. With proper introductions and patience, she can do well—especially with calmer dogs. Slow, thoughtful transitions set her up for success.

She does well with older kids, though sudden movements can startle her, so gentle, respectful interactions are best.

Weenie is house-trained, with only one minor accident after enjoying a few too many treats. She is crate-trained as well. She may vocalize briefly if she feels she’s missing out on the fun, but she settles and does well in her crate overnight or when you need to step out.

She looks like a fruit bat!

Toys—especially stuffed ones—are her favorite. She loves to play, carry them around proudly, and show off her silly personality.

Weenie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and ready to find her forever home with someone who can give her patience, love, and plenty of snuggles.
