Meet Axel—a strong, calm, resilient gentleman with so much life left to live.

Axel is wonderful with absolutely everyone he meets. Dogs, cats, kids, chickens, cows—and he has even done well with opossums and raccoons He’s the kind of dog who fits in just about anywhere.

While Axel may be considered a senior, he is far from a couch potato. His age does not define him, and he needs a semi-active family to match his energy. He enjoys walks, loves running, hiking, and exploring, and is fantastic in public. Axel often goes to softball games with his foster, does great in stores, and truly enjoys being out and about. This boy still has so much life left, and it shouldn’t be spent on a couch just because he’s labeled an “old dog.”

Axel bonds deeply with his person and would prefer a woman—he’s a total ladies’ man Once he chooses you, he plans to be by your side at all times.

He is fully potty trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and is non-destructive. Axel does not do well in a kennel and doesn’t need one. He prefers the comfort of your bed when you’re away and simply wants to be close to his person.

He is vocal and not shy about telling you when he wants attention, affection, or a snack. His biggest enemy? A baby gate that dares to keep him away from you

Axel is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. He is located in Richmond, KY and requires a fenced-in yard.
