Meet Persephone

Persephone is an 11-month-old Doberman Pinscher with all the energy, intelligence, and loyalty the breed is known for. She is active, playful, and incredibly curious about the world around her. While she can be wary of new people at first, she typically takes about 1–2 weeks to fully warm up. With patience, consistency, and positive interactions, she truly blossoms. Once she trusts you, she forms a deep bond and becomes an affectionate, devoted companion who wants to be right by your side.

She absolutely loves toys—truly loves them—and is always happy to carry one around or engage in a good play session. Whether she’s entertaining herself or romping around with her canine friends, toys are her favorite thing. She thrives on play, enrichment, and having appropriate outlets for her energy.

Persephone does wonderfully with other dogs, both large and small, and gains confidence from having a steady canine companion. She requires another medium to large, confident dog in the home to help guide her and continue building her confidence. She is good with cats and children as well. However, she will chase chickens, so a home without poultry is required.

She has a special fondness for women and seems to feel especially comfortable around them. She would love to be adopted by a woman, as that’s where she naturally gravitates and feels most secure.

Persephone is kennel-trained and walks nicely on a leash. She is still mastering potty training and does best on a consistent routine; accidents typically only happen when her schedule is disrupted. She is a smart girl who responds well to structure and clear expectations. Because of her energy level and athleticism, a securely fenced-in yard is required so she can safely run, explore, and play.

She would do best with an adopter who understands the Doberman breed and is committed to continuing her training, socialization, and confidence-building. Dobermans are intelligent, loyal working dogs who thrive with leadership, structure, and mental stimulation—and Persephone is no exception. With the right home, she will grow into an incredibly devoted, loving, and steady companion.

Persephone is located in Richmond, Kentucky. She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, and ready to find the forever home she deserves.
